Today, explore the vibrant metropolis of Seoul, a dynamic blend of ancient traditions and modern energy. Begin your morning at Gyeongbokgung Palace, where you’ll witness the Changing of the Royal Guard Ceremony, a colorful display of historical pageantry. Then, stroll through Insadong Street, one of Seoul’s most beloved cultural and shopping districts, lined with antique shops, art galleries, and boutiques showcasing traditional Korean crafts.

Continue to the bustling Gwangjang Market, famous for its rich textile heritage and lively street food scene. Enjoy free time for lunch here, with a chance to sample a variety of authentic Korean delicacies at your own pace. In the late evening, have dinner at the local restaurant of your choice.

Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ)*, one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world. Along the way, gain insight into the historical and ongoing conflict between North and South Korea. Upon arrival at Imjingak Park, view the symbolic Freedom Bridge, then continue to Dorasan Station, the northernmost train station in South Korea, symbolizing hopes for reunification.

Visit the Dora Observatory, where—on a clear day—you can peer across the border into North Korea through binoculars. Then, explore the Third Infiltration Tunnel, one of four known tunnels dug by the North with the intent of a surprise invasion.

After an included lunch at a local restaurant of your choice, return to Seoul. Later in the day, head to the lively Myeongdong district, a vibrant shopping and entertainment area filled with trendy fashion boutiques, luxury department stores, beauty shops, and an impressive array of street food vendors offering popular Korean snacks.

*Due to military exercises and/or heightened tensions along the border, the order of sightseeing and access to DMZ sites is subject to change. A valid passport is required for entry. All visitors must adhere to the DMZ dress code and security guidelines.

In the afternoon, begin your exploration of Busan with a visit to the bustling Jagalchi Fish Market, Korea’s largest seafood market, showcasing an impressive variety of fresh catches—from live fish and shellfish to exotic delicacies.

Next, head to Gukje Market, one of the city’s oldest and most iconic markets. Stroll through its maze of narrow alleyways, lined with stalls selling everything from clothing and local street snacks to handicrafts and souvenirs.

Continue to Yongdusan Park, a peaceful green space in the heart of the city, where you can enjoy panoramic views over Busan’s skyline.

Then, take a walking tour of Gamcheon Culture Village, a vibrant hillside neighborhood known for its brightly colored houses, street art, and creative installations. As you wander the winding alleys, learn about the village’s unique history and its origins as a settlement for war refugees during the Korean War.

After your tour, return to Busan. Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, sampling more of the city’s regional flavors.

Today, begin with a visit to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, dramatically perched on a cliffside overlooking the sea. Explore the peaceful temple complex, taking in the vibrant pagodas, intricate pavilions, and the striking golden Buddha statue, all set against the backdrop of the ocean.

After your visit, continue to Haeundae Beach, one of Korea’s most famous seaside destinations, and enjoy lunch by the sea.

The remainder of the day is at leisure, or you may choose to join an optional excursion to the Songdo Cable Car and Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge (weather dependent). Soar above the coastline on the Songdo Cable Car, enjoying sweeping views of the beach and ocean. Then, take a walk across the Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge, an impressive feat of engineering stretching across the water.

Note: The Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge is closed on the  1st and 3rd Monday of each month. In such cases, the sightseeing schedule will be adjusted—this day’s itinerary will be swapped with Day 6, and vice versa.

This morning, board the high-speed train back to Seoul, enjoying a comfortable and scenic ride through the Korean countryside. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel, where you’ll have time to relax or explore the city at your own pace.
