Sightseeing
Cairo Sightseeing Tour (full-day, with lunch)

Your Stay Included meal: Lunch

Begin your tour at the iconic Great Pyramid of Giza, the centerpiece of a grand complex that includes two mortuary temples dedicated to Pharaoh Khufu—one adjacent to the pyramid and the other closer to the Nile—along with three smaller pyramids for his wives, an even smaller satellite pyramid, a raised stone causeway linking the temples, and several Mastaba tombs built for nobles. Among these, one pyramid holds the tomb of Queen Hetepheres, discovered in 1925; she was both the sister and wife of Pharaoh Snefru and the mother of Khufu. Your next stop takes you to the mysterious Lord of the Sphinx. The word “sphinx,” meaning “strangler,” was first used by the Greeks to describe a mythical creature with a man’s head and a lion’s body. In ancient Egypt, sphinxes typically bear the likeness of a king, complete with royal headdress, and symbolize power and protection. The head and facial features of the Great Sphinx of Giza clearly reflect the artistic style of Egypt’s Old Kingdom, particularly the 4th Dynasty. After enjoying lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant, continue your journey to the renowned Egyptian Museum, where your Egyptologist guide will lead you through 7,000 years of captivating history. Home to more than 145,000 artifacts, this world-famous museum showcases highlights such as the priceless treasures of Tutankhamen—including his stunning gold death mask and sarcophagus—and the Royal Mummy Room, which houses the preserved remains of eleven ancient Egyptian rulers. Your final destination is the bustling Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, considered the largest market in the Middle East. Originally established in the 14th century as a rest stop for caravan traders, it is now a maze of narrow streets filled with workshops and stalls offering everything from woodwork, leather, and glassware to perfumes, textiles, and Pharaonic souvenirs—an unforgettable place to end your Egyptian adventure.

Your Stay Included meal: Breakfast (excluding early morning departures)

Today, you’ll transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, a local representative will greet you and escort you to your Nile cruise ship. After checking into your cabin, enjoy a delicious lunch on board. In the afternoon, embark on a half-day guided tour to explore the magnificent Karnak and Luxor Temples.

Sightseeing
Guided tour of Karnak Temple and Temple of Luxor (half-day)

Discover the magnificent Karnak Temple, once known during the Middle Kingdom as Ipt-Swt, meaning “The Selected Spot,” and later as Pr-Imn, or “The House of Amon.” As you approach the entrance, you’ll be greeted by an impressive avenue of ram-headed sphinxes, built to guard the temple—20 on each side. Passing through the pylon, you’ll enter a vast open court measuring 325 feet long by 250 feet wide, constructed during the 22nd Dynasty and featuring rows of beautifully preserved bud papyrus columns.

Next, visit the stunning Temple of Luxor, considered one of the most elegant temples in all of Egypt. Known in the New Kingdom as Ipt-Rsyt, or “The Southern Shrine,” it was named to distinguish it from Karnak, the northern house of Amon Ra. The temple stretches parallel to the Nile from north to south and was built on the site of an earlier 12th Dynasty sanctuary dedicated to Amon.

Your Stay Included meal: Dinner | Breakfast | Lunch

Wake up to the shimmering waters of the Nile and enjoy a relaxing breakfast on board your cruise. Afterwards, set out on a fascinating tour of the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of Egypt’s pharaohs, followed by a visit to the impressive Temple of Hatshepsut, one of the most remarkable monuments of ancient Egypt. You’ll also stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues that have stood watch for millennia. Return to the ship in time for lunch as you begin your scenic sail toward Edfu.

Sightseeing
Guided tour of the West Bank, including Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon

Enjoy a captivating tour of Luxor’s West Bank, beginning with a visit to the legendary Valley of the Kings. The first king of the New Kingdom, Ahmose of the 18th Dynasty, constructed a pyramid-like structure at Abydos, which may have been his original burial site. The Valley itself, once known as Biban el-Muluk (“Gateway of the Kings”) and also referred to as Wadyein (“The Two Valleys”), is divided into two branches. The main eastern branch, known as TA set aat or “The Great Place,” is home to most of the royal tombs. Hidden behind the dramatic cliffs that frame the temple complex of Deir el-Bahari, the Valley is naturally concealed from view—making it a perfect resting place for the pharaohs of ancient Egypt.

Your next stop is the breathtaking Temple of Hatshepsut, the mortuary temple of Egypt’s most powerful queen. Designed by her loyal architect Senenmut, the temple is nestled at the base of a towering cliff known as the Peak of Thebes, also called “The Lover of Silence,” where the guardian goddess of the necropolis once dwelled. Hatshepsut, daughter of Tuthmose I, was declared to be of divine origin—legend says that the god Amun himself fathered her. She ruled as pharaoh and was married twice; her second husband and stepbrother, Tuthmose III, resented her reign so deeply that after her death, he ordered her images and inscriptions to be erased from history.

Conclude your tour with a visit to the imposing Colossi of Memnon, two monumental statues of Amenhotep III that once guarded the entrance to his now-vanished mortuary temple. Carved from sandstone quarried at Gebel El-Silsila, each statue—including its base and crown—stands nearly 70 feet tall. The figures depict the king seated on his throne, wearing the royal Nemes headdress and adorned with the protective cobra symbol on his forehead.

Your Stay Included meal: Dinner | Breakfast | Lunch

Today, explore the remarkable Temple of Edfu, the best-preserved temple from ancient Egypt, famous for its towering pylons and stunning inscriptions. Later, visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to two deities—Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon-headed god. After your guided tour, return to the ship for lunch and continue your scenic sail onward to Aswan.

Sightseeing
Guided tour of The Temple of Horus (Edfu) and Kom Ombo Temple (Sobek)

On this tour, you’ll visit both the Temple of Edfu and the Temple of Kom Ombo. Edfu was once the capital of the second nome of Upper Egypt and served as the religious center for a divine triad consisting of Horus of Behdet, Hathor, and their son Hor-Sama-Tawy. During the Greco-Roman period, the city was known as Apollonopolis Magna, as the Greeks associated Horus with their god Apollo. Construction of the temple began under Ptolemy III around 237 BC and was completed during the reign of Ptolemy IV.

Later, you’ll sail to Kom Ombo to explore its fascinating double temple. Unique in design, the Temple of Kom Ombo is dedicated to two gods, with two identical and symmetrical sections. The left sanctuary honors Harwer (also known as Haroeris or Horus the Elder), the falcon-headed sky god, and his divine family.

Your Stay Included meal: Dinner | Breakfast | Lunch

In Aswan, visit the impressive High Dam, built in the 1960s to control the powerful flow of the Nile River. Then, explore the stunning Philae Temple, one of Nubia’s most significant and beautifully preserved monuments. To complete your experience, enjoy a serene sail on a traditional felucca, a classic Nile sailboat, as you take in the tranquil river scenery.

Sightseeing
Guided Tour of the Aswan High Dam & Philae Temple

Located near Aswan, the world-famous High Dam was hailed as an engineering marvel when it was completed in the 1960s. Constructed using 18 times the amount of material found in the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the dam stretches an impressive 11,811 feet in length, measures 3,215 feet thick at its base, and stands 364 feet tall.

Next, visit the enchanting Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis and situated on the picturesque island of Philae. While the island’s modern name is Greek, the ancient Egyptians called it P-aaleq, a name with dual meanings: both “end” and “creation.”

Your Stay Included meal: Breakfast (excluding early morning departures)

Today, your unforgettable Nile Cruise comes to an end. You will be transferred from your cruise ship to Aswan Airport (ASW) for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you to your hotel for your final night in Egypt.

The rest of the day is at your leisure. Consider exploring iconic Cairo landmarks such as the historic Cairo Citadel or the magnificent Mosque of Muhammad Ali to make the most of your last evening.
