Athens to Santorini: A Greek Getaway

Start your day with a half-day tour of the Acropolis, which is known to be one of the most important ancient sites in the Western world. Your guide will bring ancient Athens to life by visiting the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Erechtheion. After exploring the ruins, head for the Acropolis Museum, where the archaeological treasures uncovered on the hill are displayed in a modern space filled with light that overlooks the ancient citadel.

In the afternoon, go to the nearby Odeon of Herodes Atticus, a stone theatre situated at the foot of the Acropolis. It was built in 161 A.D. by the Roman philosopher and statesman Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife. As night falls, go to the streets of Plaka, which is known to be the oldest neighbourhood in Athens. Enjoy your traditional Greek dinner, showcasing moussaka. It is known as a rich, flavorful Mediterranean casserole made with layers of spiced ground meat, creamy béchamel sauce, tender eggplant, and potatoes.

They were once named as one of the largest temples in the ancient world. After that, make a stop at the Panathenaic Stadium to relax. It is known to have been built on marble.

Simultaneously, explore the grand Propylaea, the graceful Temple of Athena Nike, the sacred Erechtheion with its famous Caryatids, and the iconic Parthenon, a symbol of ancient Greek civilisation.

End your journey with the history and a visit to the acclaimed Acropolis Museum. In fact, this beautiful modern structure now houses the original sculptures and treasures of the Acropolis, finally reuniting them with their historic origins. Walk through the huge galleries and admire the beauty and craftsmanship of ancient Greece.

In the morning, you will be taken to the port in Athens for your ferry, which is roughly an 8-hour journey to Santorini. It is known to be one of the most famous and romantic islands in Greece.
